Pedram Izadpanah, Ph.D., P.Eng.

Dr. Pedram Izadpanah, Ph.D., P.Eng., has more than 18 years of academic and consulting experience in different areas of Transportation Engineering. His strengths include data mining, statistical modelling, and prediction models. His expertise involves development of new methodologies to collect, process, and analyze transportation data to improve decision making process for clients. He is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and the Director of Transportation Engineering at TNS Group.
Dr. Izadpanah has been involved in complex volume production and traffic statistics projects since 2009. In these projects, he processed ATR, TMC, and permanent count stations and produced AADT (SAADT, MAADT, etc.), truck percentages, directional volumes, design hourly volumes, among many other statistics. He recently was the project manager for implementing the MTO methodologies into the TES Software package to automate the data import, validation, traffic statistics estimations, and reporting. The MTO traffic statistics for 2017-2019 were produced in the TES Software package.
In addition to the above relevant experience, Pedram has assisted more than 50 other road authorities in the development of their traffic volumes/statistics using the TES Software. Examples include the Cities of Edmonton, Red Deer, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Guelph, County of Essex, York Region, Halton Region, and Peel Region.
Pedram has recently assisted Halton Region in Ontario to develop a plan for their traffic volume, speed, and class data collection. He was the project manager for the develop of the TAC travel time and speed measures guide.
Pedram was the chair of the TAC Road Safety Committee (RSC) from 2019 to 2021. He is currently serving as the Vice President of the Canadian Institute of Transportation (CITE). He has co-authored several publications in reputable journals or conference compendiums in the areas of traffic engineering and road safety.
